Screen and Coat

Polyurethane is a protective sacrificial coat. Over time the finish is slowly removed from friction of day-to-day living. The layer gets thinner and more scratched every year. It will eventually wear off and expose the wood. Every few years you can refresh the floor with another coat of finish.

Protection - put another coat of finish to protect floor from wearing down.

Cost Effective - another coat is less costly and messy than waiting for wood to be exposed and need a full refinish.

Extended Floor Life - buff floor and take out minor scuffs and scratches and extend life.
